Magazines - PC Gamer and their AudienceHere is the front cover for an older copy of the magazine PC Gamer - a game all about video games releasing on the PC. When creating a media product, the producers must make sure they know roughly who they are aiming their product at- in terms of age, gender, social status and interests. In the case of PC Gamer, the people who make this magazine will no doubt have done research into the kind of people that usually are interested in playing games, especially on PC's. Once they established the kind of people that would be interested in their product, they will tailor things like the front cover, and of course content for those people.

The content of my magazine - PC Gamer, will likely be extremely descriptive, with lots of text and information, reviews and more on the newest games that are being released on PC. There will also be a large amount of pictures, including in game screenshots, interviews with developers, PC builds and more that will all catch the attention of the reader. This is because the magazine writers know full well that the audience is interested in all of those things.
The type of fonts are also important in magazines, as you can see from the picture, everything from the title of the actual website to the subtitles are very bold and clear fonts. Inside you will find similar themes, big, blocky fonts with well organised paragraphs and everything will be well laid out and easy to understand.

This table is a psychographics table - psychographics being the study of personality, values, opinions, attitudes, interests, and lifestyles. When creating a media product, it is important to take psychographics into account, as the social status of a person can affect things like income, interests, hobbies and can determine what kind of "band" (A,B,C etc) to aim your product towards.
This is the most recent copy (March) of PC Gamer's front cover. It follows the theme as talked about above, with the clean, blocky fonts, a main statement character in the center of the page. I think that this magazine, from the front cover alone the audience of the website is primarily males, probably aged between 15-35.
